Men's Fellowship E-mail

Life is busy... Work, family, home-maintenance, and other responsibilities make demands on our time each and every week, and a few free hours on a Saturday morning can be pretty valuable! So, why should you take a couple of those hours each month to attend Calvary Chapel Southwest Metro’s Men’s Fellowship Breakfast? Good question! Let me make an attempt at an equally good answer.

Life is busy! That is actually the first reason. We have so many things going on in our lives these days, that if we are not purposeful about setting aside time to form relationships with other men, we run the risk of finding ourselves isolated and alone. Now of course, we are not completely alone. Those of us who are husbands and fathers have our wife and our kids, but men need relationships with other men as well. We need the opportunity to form friendships. There are many examples of friendships in the Bible; David and Johnathan, Paul and Barnabas, Daniel and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, just to name a few; these friendships, and others like them, provided encouragement, assistance, accountability, and prayer support to each of these men. As Proverbs 27:17 tells us, “Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens a friend’s character” (ISV).

In order to sharpen one another, we must spend time with one another. Our men’s fellowship breakfasts provide a context for that very thing, as well as an opportunity to enjoy some good food, and fellowship, as we study the word of God together. So join us, the second Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at the Taco Cabana on North Burleson Blvd. You’ll be glad you did!
